Emma Block is an illustrator and author living in north Essex, working across publishing, editorial illustration, licensing, packaging and branding. She has written and illustrated many books, including her best selling painting books The Joy of Watercolour, Get Started with Gouache, and Watercolour Life. Here latest book Keeping a Creative Sketchbook is out on April 9th 2024. She has also illustrated the children’s book series, The Adventures of Miss Petitfour by Anne Michaels.

Emma loves inspiring people to embrace their creativity. She has taught in many different formats over the years, from in person workshops, international retreats, online courses, her books and her popular Patreon account. Her Domestika course now has over 10,000 students.

Emma’s work is inspired by the people she meets in her everyday life, old films and photos, vintage clothes, travel, 1950s illustration, 1930s jazz and sausage dogs.
